Bucky raised his brows at Steve, turning him by the shoulders to the laughing people coming off the exit line of the ride.

"It's tradition. You throw your arms up and scream. It's part of the experience, that's all. And a blast."

It said so in the papers and Bucky was dying to get on this ride. But no. He wouldn't do it without Steve. Which meant he pulled out the big guns next.

"If you'd rather sit on the bench." Said as he gestured toward a bench where kids were waiting for older siblings and parents to get off the ride. It was a really low blow, and Bucky didn't normally go there, but he was determined.

The key there was implying, not just that Steve was a square, but hinting he wasn't up for it, too. Bucky knew Steve insisted he had nothing to prove, but you give the man a challenge and he rose to it. It was something Bucky loved and hated about his best friend.

Steve never seemed to back down, even when it was the better idea. It wasn't because he was thick like the hard-headed bullies they fought together. It was because Steve was the most determined man Bucky knew, and that was why Bucky would follow him anywhere.
